WILD MEN AND WILD CATTLE Edition of 8 Native Texas cattle that were left unattended during the Civil War roamed the brush country south of the Nueces River like feral beasts in some primeval forest. After the war, the men who came to claim them were wild too, just like those cattle and just like that country. They were young men mostly, made tough by the times and always eager for action. They squandered their youth and vitality on half-broke horses in a hard, lonesome land. Click here to e-mail the artist. |
